Marcello Pellitteri, nato in Italia, risiede a New York City e, oltre ad essere un batterista pluripremiato, è anche pianista, educatore, compositore, arrangiatore e produttore.

Ha studiato all'Università di Palermo, presso il Berklee College of Music (dove ha conseguito il Diploma 'Cum Laude' di Composizione per Musiche da Film) e al New England Conservatory of Music, dove consegue il Master of Music in 'Jazz Studies', conferito con l'Onore della 'Distinction in Performance'.

Attualmente oggi è Professore Associato presso il Berklee College of Music, e partecipa attivamente nelle più prestigiose Clinics Internazionali di Perfezionamento Musicale.

Il M° Pellitteri ha fatto parte dei gruppi di Jacky Terrasson, Jon Hendricks, Miroslav Vitous, e negli ultimo 20 anni ha suonato in tutto il mondo in Festival, programmi radio e televisivi con artisti del calibro di Mulgrew Miller, Joe Henderson, Dave Liebman, Paquito D'Rivera, Mick Goodrick, Woody Shaw, Winton Marsalis, the Boston Pops Orchestra e altri. Ha anche ricoperto il ruolo di batterista/percussionista con gli artisti pop rhumba-flamenco 'GIPSY KINGS'.

Oggi si esibisce con il gruppo vocale a cappella vincitore di vari Grammy Award, i vocalists 'New York Voices' e col vibrafonista Dave Samuels. Il M° Pellitteri ha registrato intensivamente e ha ricevuto acclamazioni entusiastiche per tutti gli oltre quaranta dischi usciti. Tra gli artisti con i quali è apparso si annoverano Trio (Projazz), con Aydin Esen e Eddie Gomez; 6x6 (King Records), con Royce Campbell, John Abercrombie e Dave Stryker; Bohemia (Jazzpoint), con Vic Juris e Miroslav Vitous; Sing,Sing,Sing, (Concord), con i New York Voices; Pas An Dour (Naïve), con Celtic Tales e Michael Brecker; infine My Marilyn (Enja), con David Klein e Mulgrew Miller.

Pellitteri è, per dirla con parole di Gary Burton, 'un musicista meraviglioso ' (uno) dei più ricchi di talento ' che abbia avuto modo di incontrare da moltissimo tempo'.

Marcello Pellitteri, born in Italy, residing in New York City, is, in addition to being an award winning drummer, a pianist, educator, composer, arranger and producer. He was educated at the University of Palermo, Berklee College of Music (Diploma of Music in Film Scoring, Cum Laude), and the New England Conservatory of Music (Master of Music in Jazz Studies, conferred with Distinction in Performance).

He is currently an Associate Professor at Berklee College of Music, and has ongoing involvement with major international music clinics.

Mr. Pellitteri has been a member of groups lead by Jacky Terrasson, Jon Hendricks, Miroslav Vitous, and, over the past 20 years, has performed worldwide in festivals, television and radio programs with Slide Hampton, Dave Samuels, Mulgrew Miller, Joe Henderson, Dave Liebman, Paquito Dâ Rivera, Mick Goodrick, Woody Shaw, John Abercrombie, Winton Marsalis, the Boston Pops Orchestra and others.

Television appearances include NBCs Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O Brien and CBSs Sunday Morning.

He has also been the drummer/percussionist of the rhumba-flamenco pop artists GIPSY KINGS.

Currently he is playing with Grammy Award winners vocalists New York Voices.
Mr. Pellitteri has recorded extensively and has received enthusiastic acclaim.
